Struggles Of A Woman Poem by Dio Rivera

Struggles Of A Woman

Woman brutality is unacceptable
The way men treat women is just terrible
We all came from a woman when we were born
They raised us to grow like a crop of corn
But yet we beat them like they are men
They fight but get beat over and over again
Home raising kids while the man is out drinking
She's sitting wondering where is he, Thinking
He comes home smelling like another woman's perfume
You ask but he beats you cause you assume
Wake up sore from the beatings
Looking at your wedding picture screaming
Others say to call someone
So you can get help and it can be done
Waking up without a man by your side
A week he's not there so you start to cry
Wondering where is he and why
You call his father and his mother
They don't know where he is not even his brother
" Mommy where 's daddy" Your children wonder
You say " It's okay, You got your mother"
Woman brutality still goes on
Make it go away and be long gone
Woman will always be here
Let's not let them live in fear
Tupac says to " Keep your head up"
Continue to do that so you can build up
