Imagine Poem by Dio Rivera

Imagine

Imagine,
A place with Bridges and no walls
A school with no bullying in the halls
A place where deportation doesn't exist
A place where we don't have to protest and raise our fists

Imagine,
A place with no police brutality
A place with no fatalities
A place with equal opportunity
A place full of Unity

Imagine,
A place where racism is not acceptable
A place where others can afford food on there table
A place where no homeless are sleeping on the streets
A place where no one has tears raining down their cheeks

Imagine,
A place where everyone has a place to live
A place where no one has to give
A place full of happiness
A place full of greatness

Now Imagine,
A place with walls
A place where bullying still goes on in the halls
A place where deportation still does exist
A place where we still have to protest and raise our fists

Imagine,
A place with police brutality
A place with fatalities
A place with no equal opportunity
A place with no Unity

Imagine,
A place where racism is acceptable
A place where others can'tafford food on there table
A place where homeless are stillsleeping on the streets
A place where people still have tears raining down their cheeks

Imagine,
A place where everyone is struggling to find a place to live
A place where people have to give
A place filled with no happiness
A place filled with no greatness

The first verse is just our imagination
It's just a hallucination
The second verse is the present
The world is still full of argument
Our world is like that today
Our world is just dark and grey
It's the same everyday
Where we still hope and pray
We don't need to imagine that
Because it's like that today exact
We need to turn it into a reality
So Imagine.
