Sublimated Self Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Sublimated Self

I use,
Sublimation to transition
From hard realities
The unnerving confusions,

Moving,
To a place replete with
Perfect illusions
Where happiness and I
Savour our sweet seclusion.

One claimed his love
Sans all the nurturing romance
In the most recent present tense

Other shows me the road to heaven
But says I will never have any chance
And here I am, dancing my solitary dance

I camouflage my
dreary despondence
With a facade of pretence
For I still believe in magic
Put on a smile, for Lady Luck
If it crosses my path, happenstance

By freeing my feelings
I let go of my brittle self
Vaporise my emotions
Taking the high road
To peaceful perfections
