Winter Mornings Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Winter Mornings

Rating: 4.9

Winter mornings
Misty dawns
Shivering sunshine
Dew drops on lawns

Little Birds
They're All puffed up
Barren trees
They Do Look tough

Canvass of
Winter skies
Colours splashed
With many dyes

I might shiver
In my shoes
Heart still happy
Have no blues

Winter times
Are such a treat
In nature's arms
Time to retreat

Winter times Are such a treat In nature's arms Time to retreat I agree with you on this since I love basking in the winter sun and going outdoors on picnics so as to embrace the sun's loving warmth. Enjoyed.

Dear Nalini, Fantastic poem. You make me nostalgic of my winters in Delhi. Although my asthma gets worse during winter, after an arduous summer we used to look forward to the onset of winter and all the festivals that winter brings with itself. My favourite season, in spite of the hazards it causes to my health. In South, there is no winter worth the name, you know. If I may suggest, the last word in the 12th line could be changed to hues, although you would miss the rhyme. Just a suggestion. Thanks for sharing the beautiful poem. Continue writing.
