Subtle Poem by Fitsroy Randall

Subtle

Being subtle is a rare gift
A gift, I dare say, you possess in abundance
You are calm sweet and beautiful
Like a garden i the spring, filled with roses
Catching dew at dawn
A whiff of freshly cut lilies
Dancing through the air
A ray of sunshine
Breaking it's way through the darkened sky

forgive my guilt to be attached to you
But your calmness has an underlying quality
A silent beat in a musical melody
Capturing the essence of life
A diamond hidden under stone
Waiting to come forth and shine
Your calmness possess' an exquisite touch
A touch of class, a hint of elegance

Like a sweet, romantic ballad
Springing forth from operatic lips
Mesmerizing your audience
as smooth as silk, with a fleck of grace
You being subtle intrigues me
Boast a bit of a challenge
It holds me, put me in a trance
A quality lost a millennia ago
Now finally I discovered it in you my darling
