Success And Values Poem by Davis Hord

Success And Values

Rating: 1.0

Success is one of the most important things in life. I believe the author thought the Bakers were more successful than the Loskis because they didn't need money to be happy. Bryce soon realized, with the help of his grandfather, that the Baker family was just 'real', as he explains it.
'Don't judge a book by its cover'. All Bryce has ever done is judge Juli by her family and house. Now that it's too late, he is finally seeing her for her personality and true beauty. This has opened up his eyes that maybe something is missing in his own life.
Bryce's dad was the main problem. He was pompous, self-centered, and valued material things. Bryce has been walking in the footsteps of his dad, always trying to make him proud. Thankfully, Bryce's grandfather mentioned that 'most people don't look beneath the surface until it's too late'. Soon Chet caught Bryce from following the wrong path so he could see clearly and go the right one.
Success - the accomplishment of aim or purpose. To me, success shouldn't be a competition. To make a goal and accomplish it is a good way to show success. My definition of success is that you shouldn't care what others think, serve the Lord with all your heart, follow the golden rule, and live by the fruits of the spirit!
