Such A Disappointment Poem by Nicholas Moss

Such A Disappointment

You hurt
You injure
You harm
Your actions are of ill nature
You fill in your grave
With dirt borrowed from the creation of others
Yet your pit is still descending

I cannot respect these actions
I cannot respect you
Yet you are still human
So I cannot wish the claws of malice to descend upon you
The same claws you use to scrape away the gems in the walls of your pit

I will let the world be your downfall
The distrust amassed against you
Soon you'll find that there is no more dirt
None, that others are willing to give you
The world will turn against you
As you've turned against others
And I will watch from afar
As the ground sifts away
To reveal flames so violent

These flames you created
Lit by your own hand
They're singing to you now
And they hold one demand
That you sing along with them
Burn in your ‘righteous' chorus
Revel in the hatred you gave to others so freely

I will see you burning
And you will reach for my help
But I shall not give it
As you have proved unworthy of it
I give you neither mercy nor cruelty
I show you neither love nor hatred
I will simply watch you burn
Think of the potential you wasted
And from my breath you will hear
'Such a disappointment'

Wow. I think that is one of the only times that I have been left entirely speechless. What brought these thoughts and feelings on? I found this to be a very condemning poem, full of hatred, malice, and disgust. I certainly didn't expect it, and it was shocking in its emotional force, but I found it terribly captivating. Congratulations. Very well written and full of imagery.
