Suckers? Losers? Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Suckers? Losers?

Suckers?
Losers?
A depiction given,
By the ones...
Who have lived their lives,
Avoiding to serve...
A second of civic duty.
Or proving a deserving,
A quality of life.
Daring to call themselves patriots.
Or volunteer for that right,
Fighting to preserve...
Entitlements to believe,
Belong to them exclusively.

Ignored to disparage and disenfranchise,
Are the very people despised...
By the ones corrupted.
Living lawless criminal lives.
With a choosing to inflict,
Division, confusion and conflicts.
Ignorant to the fact,
They stand on the backs...
Of the ones they describe,
As suckers and loses.

And yet...
These 'suckers and losers',
Diversified in their abilities.
Giving up their lives,
Allowing deceivers and those who hide...
Behind lies to tell.
Living high on theft.
And nothing else to prove themselves,
To sit in positions making decisions...
As to who is deserving to receive,
Respect, honor and dignity.
When the ones who have risen,
To heights of power...
Are those who have gained their notoriety,
Did this to do to fraud.
And applauded by the many,
Addicted to watching TV.
To obtain a nonexistent to distance,
Truth and the reality of it!

Who are the suckers and losers?
Those who deceive fools to believe them!
And taught from lessons that teach,
Delusions sought and kept to keep...
Remains a beneficial advantage.
