Sugar Cane Poem by Gideon Ide

Sugar Cane

All I feel is pain
As I stand here in the rain.
Knowing no matter how much I train,
There's nothing left for me to gain.

I'm not gonna lie
Every time I try
To say my last goodbye,
I always start to cry.

I blew my one last shot
And threw out all I got
And even though I stood and fought,
I'm now left here to sit and rot.

So, now that my bones are starting to bend
And my heart is too damaged to mend,
I fear this is the end,
My friend.
