Summer Blues Poem by Marta Mehrpouyan

Summer Blues

Rating: 0.5

It rains so hard...
almost as if the dark clouds were crying for something they'd lost,
a constant wall of water reminiscent of something sad or dead
and yet, there is so much life in the water that falls from that sky,
that sky so warm
filled with tear like drops that as they fall
touch my skin and make me tremble
filling my heart with want... overtaking my will,
immersing my mind in nostalgic fogs of summer blues,
softly, slowly, descending upon my soul as I unwillingly think of you
I look out of my window and I see everything shine,
covered in shimmering water drops
seemingly blessed from up above....
and as I hear the rain sing
tapping insistently on my window sill
I allow my soul to danse with it
and my imagination takes flight
sliding down the warmth of the humid air,
allowing the wet wind that plays with the trees
and throws their leaves mercilessly on the ocean kissed rocks,
to fill my heart with passion and stir my thoughts....
as it rains... and rains... and rains
a passion filled rain
that far from adding to my pain
reminds me that I should be grateful when the sun shines again
