Summer (Dedicated To Kikujuro No Natsu) Poem by Kevin Wang

Summer (Dedicated To Kikujuro No Natsu)

Laughing ringing in the background
are children who are dancing on the meadow floor
prancing lightly
singing for everyone to hear
as they play with
the whispers of the wind

across rivers and lakes
glistening with deep ends
where they’d be exploring
where they’d be splashing toward fun

fireflies dragonflies
fluttering around their heads
singing dancing
around the land they know so well

racing through the forests
with fairies and pixies
following too
there just a be a little part
a little boy or girl
wishing to take part
but
doesn’t have the effort to take in

dancing prancing
upon the meadow floor
letting all serenity fall out
letting in the children all alone to come

converging
now just a second
there be a time to rest
lying on their backs
watching the heavens glow
like flying lanterns sailing through the clear lake

by the night sky
heads together
humming dreaming
together
our beloved selves
always
together
