Summer Evening Poem by Marilyn Lott

Summer Evening

Rating: 5.0

We sit on the porch in the summer time
And watch the sun go down.
Hold hands and dream of tomorrow
As frogs croak their nighttime sound.

While the children lay in slumber
And our time alone stands still,
For now our worries vanish
Today’s duties have been fulfilled.

Tomorrow when our babies wake
And our busy day begins
Once again we’ll have the evening
And the peace I will feel within.
