Sun And Moon Poem by Brooke Collicutt

Sun And Moon

Sometimes I wonder,
about the tragedy of broken hearts,
between the sun and the moon.
Can you imagine,
being separated for the rest of eternity,
the only reminder of the other,
being mere traces,
before you cast them away with a bright light,
or dark shadow?
I ponder the reasons,
behind such a hurt.
The consequences,
too severe,
yet they must live,
on opposite sides of the world,
from now,
until the end of time.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was having an extremely emotional day involving the guy I like and I was actually star gazing before I wrote this and it kind of struck me - the atrocity that would be, never being able to see the guy I like... Ever again. A little terrifying and a lot painful. So, I suppose, as most of my poems are, this is dedicated to a kind soul I've nicknamed Six Feet.
