Surely July Invented Love Poem by Laurette Nichole

Surely July Invented Love

Rating: 5.0

I don't suppose you're missing me at all
but I've thought & thought & thought of you
I've dreamed, I've wished, I've wanted, needed, loved
hated, missed & adored you. That was just this morning.
A few tears have fallen, my heart has turned over &
tried to jump out of my chest. To find you, I suppose.
I haven't called since we last spoke.
I've avoided mentioning you at all.
My feelings go on ignored by myself. & you.
Now that you're gone, I've tried to forget
the texture of your hair. Just as wild & crazy as your eyes.
The feeling of your skin, like raindrops in September.
Your lips taste like the exact shade of pink that they are.
& your chin on my shoulder when you held me was
just like I imagine love to feel to the soul.
Your voice. It's a song to my heart when you speak.
& I don't suppose you aren't a fragment of Heaven fallen.
