Surely She Knows Poem by Robert L. Bixler III

Surely She Knows

Rating: 5.0

I beckon to the ever rising sun,
Whose dawn casts golden hue,

Surely she knows…

That she is nay just someone
But the light that burns from you.
The very ray that tickles my eye
And blinds me in heavenly vie.

Unable to answer in certainty,
The sun imparts radiating warmth
As its rising divinity blends mundane.

A soft, cold wind comforts me
Embracing my questioned stupor.

Surely she knows…

Her very presence calms chastely
Beyond Aeolian’s harp on any zephyr.
A soothing air conferring sweet serenity
Within the stormy winds of the hasty.

With a whistle of naiveté,
My befriending breeze dissipates
Until the tender embrace fades.

Wandering, in thought, my path crosses a rose
Whose beauty hides thorny temptation.

Surely she knows…

Her scarlet beauty beguiles the dangerous a’knows;
Her thorns beg blooded-prick for loved sensation.
Yet as the blood soaks into thirsting petals
The fragrance of her seduction never lulls.

Having drawn desired blood,
And ensorcelled me in pungent lusting love,
The rose turns toward its sun without answer.

My passion builds in summer storm,
Raging fiercely beyond the troposphere.

Surely she knows….

My words fall, an invigorating cold hailstorm.
Raindropp run, across desiring skin, is her touch I revere.
Lightning, flaming in the clouds as wildfire to kindle,
Erupts feverishly as my obsession burns direful.

As a flash fire out burns its fuel,
My obsession consumes all of myself.
My summer storm collapses inward, leaving ice blue skies.

As my day slowly approaches an end,
So does the life I’ve loved for my beauty.

Surely she knows…

That in this fading twilight transcend,
My unwavering devotion remains my duty.
As the sun and the moon surely do meet,
Our souls shall bear this benediction repeat.

Even within the final sunset of life,
My soul is drawn to her radiance;
The companionship to ease eternal sleep.

Within infinity’s limitless bound,
She leaves me, in cold solitude, to confound….

Surely she knows…. I love her evermore.
