Sweet Angel Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Sweet Angel

Rating: 5.0

As tears flow from the corner of my eyes
It breaks my heart to realize
And though I exist in uncertain misery
I wait for my sweet angel to rescue me

The skies are cloudy and shades of grey
all my hopes have flown away
Somewhere perhaps she'll hear my plea
I wait for my sweet angel to rescue me

Her soft hand I will hold in mine
Pray to love her 'till the end of time
No other lover wiil I need just she
I wait for my sweet angel to rescue me

Though restless and unable to sleep
I think of her so soft and sweet
and imagine in her arms I would be
I wait for my sweet angel to rescue me

Her hair soft fragrant and flowing
Her spirit gentle and so knowing
Her emotions as deep as the sea
I wait for my sweet angel to rescue me

From this life so empty and dreary
left in its place a heart so weary
From this sadness I hope to flee
I wait for my sweet angel to rescue me

And when in sleep I feel her near
Her presence calms my fear
Some day I know I will be free
I wait for my sweet angel to rescue me
