Sweet Ruin Poem by Asma Khan

Sweet Ruin

Rating: 5.0

The nights don't cry anymore
The sun doesn't shine like before

There is no one calling my name in his heart
Ripping rose petals part by part

For silence is my best friend now
There is still much to say but how

Each time I try to forget you
The harder its gets to let you

Fighting against one's heart is not easy
Raging love's epidemic drives you crazy

I have to move forward to see what's beyond
You played your part and left me to be pawned

The heart has always been a burning candle
It will lit again once you baffle

You swallowed my faith like the dying sun
Believing you loved me is a heart burn

I fell for your broken, needy life, holding nothing
but you traded my conscience in everything

I felt older and closer to death than the stars
All mirrors in my heart reflected your scars

The raindrops don't gather on my palm
There is silence everywhere in this calm

I am content for this is my new beginning
A step away from you everyday, is my winning

a setback in life is not the end of life itself. There is always hope and promise beyond that. I like this amazing poem and its lovely rhyming. I quote: For silence is my best friend now There is still much to say but how I am content for this is my new beginning A step away from you everyday, is my winning
