Take Me Out Of My Dreams Poem by Cynthia Aluning

Take Me Out Of My Dreams

Sitting by the window cold and blue
Soft breeze of the night whispering a tune
Tiny, soft kisses blown with the wind
From a faraway distance I felt on my lips

A vision of a man in flashing streams
Someone who just exists only dreams
I know for a fact he's a mere fantasy
An illusion of the mind I cannot live with

Distance is a dagger struck in our hearts
For people in love from far edges of the earth
Wish that the world grows smaller each day
Pulling us nearer, cutting miles away

Given the chance to choose who I'd be
Wish I could fly and sail in the midst
A bird who can soar up high on its wings
Flying to and from each time that I wish

Lasting memories that feed my imagination
Hope is a reality that leads your creation
Connection we do share is molding no escape
The intensity of love slowly taking shape

Get out of my dreams and take me for real
Secure my fear that at least you exist
Boundless by the depths of distance in between
Divided by the seas...united how we feel
