Take Your Choice To Pick Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Take Your Choice To Pick

Today...
There is nothing like living,
To witness...
That which The Almighty Creator,
Reveals with certainty to have believed.
Done to present,
Before the eyes of those still faithful.

Although remaining there are many,
Questioning if God exists.
Denial sits,
In these minds to permit...
Fiction to function.
Demanding it to live and breathe.

"How would I know,
If God is real? "

Well...
Take your choice to pick.
Even though,
The field of choices have begun to narrow.

Truth and the reality of it?
Would be a ridiculous argument to start.
The smell of its presence,
Is all over the place.
The odor of it,
Is not as fragrant or accepted...
As it use to be.
Before deception came to hide and disguise it.
For those deciding delusion,
Had for them profitable...
And long lasting benefits.
Leaving them with tears on their pillows.

"And...
The other choices?
You said there were other choices.
What are they? "

Maintained prolonging craze.
Wrapped in a straitjacket.
Fearing one's own shadow.
Or...
Soothing medication applied.
With either patches,
Or sweetened pills to swallow.
Steroids!
To have you believe,
You have begun to build...
Your own condo on Mars.
And...
Steps away from the beach.

"Those are choices only nuts would make! "

Now...
Don't rush to judgement.
Both could possibly deliver potential.

You know...
God has a reputation,
For not wasting anything He creates.

However...
This can be debatable.

Today?
However they did it,
There are some who sit...
In positions of leadership.
Either God chose them as exceptions.
Or...
God has a tremendous sense of humor,
No one has yet found funny.

Neither to understand it.
Nor made clear to have this joke understood!
