Talking To The Trees Poem by Justin Gildow

Talking To The Trees

The night is feeling the aftermath from the rainstorm
And I'm walking along
Bundled up to keep warm from the weather tonight

Tonight
I'm talking to the trees
Since I don't have anyone right now to talk to
Something's on my mind
And that something is you

Walking along
I walk up to a pack of trees
And tell them what's on my mind
I know they can't talk back to me
But I'm happy they're here
And that they can listen to me

Talking to the trees makes me feel better
Talking to the trees makes me forget about the weather

I don't know what else will happen to me tonight
on this little stroll of mine
And I don't know what she's thinking or doing right now
But I hope she's thinking of me in some way
I hope she's smiling where she is now
And daydreaming of me somehow

As the moon appears
I continue down the path
Talking to the trees
And admire the magic they have
I know in some way
They worry about me
And they feel for me
But they know I'll be alright
