Tear Drenched Poem by Kai Ford

Tear Drenched

As I wipe the salty tear from my eye
my heart sends a message to my brain to create a new one
It slowly slides down my yellow cheek to the corner of my pink Chapsticked lips
The same lips you kissed knowing the fine mess you were creating

I use my fingers to catch the next tear before it completely exits my right eye
This tear makes it 2 in total and the 3rd is filled w/anger
The 4th seems laced w/regret and other feelings that aren't organic to me
Both eyes purging the hurtful thoughts of the nothingness you've inflicted
I notice if I dont catch the tears, they find their way to my chin

Another falls and after a while, I've lost count
I realize I'm standing in a pool of emotions
And a puddle of hurt
My tears have even drenched my soul
You were supposed to be my umbrella Wallace but
If you truly were my covering, why am I soaked?
