of the chimney sweeping child emerged
and stoked pity and resignation,
a shop doing the shopping for you
was moving the oldest stuff first
and holding back the new;
while funding research
for an acceptable invention
to stop aging
and make use by dates obsolete.
That invention,
derived from sugar,
