Telegraphed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Telegraphed

Telegraphed.
From a dissecting.
Of a disease.
That had been microscoped.
Discovering to uncover,
The cause of a dangerous...
And spreading infection.
Destroying the minds.
And finding the cause.
It seems carriers were volunteering,
Their devoted loyalty...
To just one amongst them.
Others had known.
For decades and knew.
But what they said had been ignored.
That a staying away,
Would be to the best of their interests.

Yet...
This they did not do.
And hypnotically dazed,
They began to defend their mental craze.
Diseasing an entire population.
And the health,
Of a quality of life to live.
Without a clue or a hint,
They were giving consent of a doing meant.

"What on Earth has happened to them? "

-They have been made convinced,
A diversity...
They have always represented,
Their way of life.
And a greatness,
They once had been proud about.
Has too much 'color' in it! -

"But...
Hasn't it always been that way? "

-Yes!
Yet...
The effect of the disease,
Has begun to have them protest...
As this being a reflection,
Of their own accepted democracy! -

"That is absolutely crazy! "

-They deny to disbelieve it.
Even after the evidence of facts,
Has been dissected.
Microscoped.
Telegraphed and to them sent,
By their own selected scientists.
Hired then fired,
By the one...
Found infected.
And the cause of spreading...
A mental disease claiming to have a cure.-

"This nothing but madness! "

-My own psychiatrist,
Refuses to see it from my point of view.-
And...
I had with me pictures,
Of the perpetrator too! -

"A loyalist."

-No!
My psychiatrist.-
