Tell Him Poem by Brendon Langeveldt

Tell Him

They all called him Mr. Man
While I simply called him, Pa.
Ek dink elke dag aan hom
Al is hy nie meer daar.

Sometimes I try to speak to him
But I guess that he can't hear me
Though I hope that where he is,
That it's not too far to see me

If you happen to run into him
Please tell him that I love him.

I don't remember him very well
I was young when he passed.

Ek onthou hoe hy gepraat het,
Met sy sagte, growwe stem.
He permanently sounded,
Like his chest was filled with phlegm

Hy het ou cowboy movies gekyk
Op sy ou video masjien.
Nou is cowboy's en videos outdated,
En my gevoelens oor hom frustrated.

Ek wens somtyd ek kan met hom praat,
Ek wens somtyd hy was my maat,
There's so much I want to tell him,
Even more I want to ask him.

If you see him where you go,
Please tell him that I miss him

Every time I think of him I cry
I don't know if he would like that.
I look at old pictures of him and me
And wonder how life would be
If we never lost him.
Ek het nooit kans gehad om hom te leer ken nie.
Nooit kans gehad om goodbye te se nie.

I hear he was an incredible man,
Anything else I would not understand.

If you ever see him
Please tell him that I need him.

I always wanted to spend more time with him
Why did he have to go?
Why?
Why?
Why?
I don't understand.
I need him
We all need him.
We need his guidance.
We need his love.
We need him.

If you see him before I do,
Please tell him that we love him
