Telling Me You're Thinking

tree is still here fruitless
listening to what will i say
waiting for today am sitting
i look far across field to see
my geese still feeding grass
some looking at me strange

no errand ball, sun is cruel
canal is dried up, footprints
divots scattered along the way
sound of grass cutter few steps
sky is clear and so my memory
i miss something deep inside me
