Temptation Poem by Herbert Nehrlich

Temptation

Silence is the monk's behaviour
just to please his holy saviour.
Prayer keeps him out of strife
but he doesn't have a life.
Thus, it happens fairly often
that his resolutions soften,
God is watching with disdain
and the angels cry their rain.

Neat and tidy, but not as enjoyable as some of your other creations of today. G.
