The best words I've ever written
Came to me from you,
And your faithful guidance
That never makes me blue. The best thoughts I ever pondered
And stories that I've told—
Are all about you, Jesus,
And your blessed heart of gold. The foremost deeds I've rendered
I always will endear . . .
And hold them in my grateful heart
'Cause your holiness I revere. All I ever accomplished
As paramount and true—
So I'll always be proud and faithful
'Cause they came to me from you.
