Thanks For All The Pain Poem by Bob Dragon

Thanks For All The Pain

Rating: 5.0

Thank you for the pain
you have given me.
You set me up
just so you can tear me down.
Pretending to help me
just to hurt me.
Others see you as an angel.
I see the real you.
You are a snake
in a fake skin.

You surround me,
like the snake you are,
pretending you want to guide me.
You point the way
just so you can stab me.
Constricting, choking,
I'm slowly dying.
Biting, gnawing,
you poison me.

Your lies will stab me,
just like your fangs.
They infect me,
fooling me,
so you can play me.
I am not a toy,
though you see different.
You push and pull,
trying to control.
To you I am dirt,
and I mean nothing.

Breaking news!
This dirt has feelings.
Feelings you hurt
for your own game.
You hurt me,
so thank you for the pain.
