Thanks To Lady Luck I Was Lucky Today Poem by Francis Duggan

Thanks To Lady Luck I Was Lucky Today

A bloke driving a truck at the tip backed into my car today
But lady luck she must have been looking my way
For though he damaged my car I escaped without injury
Thank you lady luck for being so nice to me
My ageing station wagon took a heavy hit
And will cost five or six hundred dollars to fix in money quite a bit
But for any accident that does seem a small price to pay
I do feel so lucky that I am okay
An accident in which I might have been injured or died
But lady luck on the day was on my side
The truck driver uninjured he too for that felt glad
When people are uninjured any accident not bad
The truck driver and I we were lucky today
Thanks to lady luck she must have smiled our way.
