The Accidental Turn Of A Trade Unionist Poem by Udaya R. Tennakoon

The Accidental Turn Of A Trade Unionist

An accidental turn
Of continuous life
Up sided down
Happiness with asymmetrical hope

A leader in trade union politics
Becomes an apprentice of cheese making
After being a refugee in Swiss
In a prosperous mountainous village

In proud of his career
Brings him to the top
Than the height of the hill
Enjoys difficult happiness

Instead of talking about
Demands and rights
Politics and struggle in homeland
Tells the story of cheese making

Quality and quantity of temperature
Training of disciplinary patience
Clean and time of hardness
Proudest adventure of joy

Taste and proportion
The goal of the success is
Made by him original cheese
Priceless gift to the friends

Comments of taste and quality
Cheeks become rose colored
With smiles and hints for his friends' jokes
Having perfected than ever

Like a slice of tasty cheese
Compacted life into the present
On time schedule of the day
Night takes to the on time sleep

Living among crowded labors
Noisiest voices of unsatisfied
Calmness of retired past
He tries to be cheese

War given gift as a part
Rebirth of life
Slowly climbs the mountain
Even though the life is getting old
