Belonging Poem by Udaya R. Tennakoon

Belonging

Rating: 5.0

Above the space
Among countless stars
The moon was rising

I came out and
Lit up my cigarette
Under a tree
Looking at a tree

I felt
That I am belonged
To the earth
As if trees

I felt
That I am belonged
To the universe
As if stars
And the moon

Though not to you
I came back
After the smoke
Disappeared

A Very good poem with such a broad scope. But the am is not necessary. Perhaps it could read: I felt That I belonged To the universe As do stars And the moon. Enjoyed Adeline
