The Attackers Poem by Ibrahim Enitan Eniola Olubiyi

The Attackers

Rating: 5.0

Robust and yet firm
audacious and luxurious
Sumptuous and voluptuous
The attackers!

Receptive and adaptive
Like a bait luring its unsuspecting prey to its final home
The one potent weapon no warrior is immune against
The death and rise of many warriors,
Deceptive and expensive
The Attackers!

A natural chameleon within another vessel,
Sometimes erect as the early morning sun,
At times, beautifully hidden from the unsuspecting eyes of its victim,
Regardless of its mode and purpose,
The attackers' effect is often reckon as soothing and pleasurable

The Attackers,
Luscious yet suspicious to the wise,
The desire of both victims and victors
Blessed are those to whom it chooses to please,
Woe betides its foe

A source of life and death,
All must to bow at its kneel If for but a second,
Even the gods are not spared
All at one time drank from its cistern
Immunity have I not against thee Óh! Attackers!

My strength shatters at thy sight,
My teeth clatters in resonance,
Yet, access have I not to one
The thought of one boils my blood
Nonetheless, a single glimpse of one within its confine have I not
The Attacker!

Heaven helps you when in the morning one you behold in its unprotected state,
Why would many a warrior hawk?
Save for the intent of having a closer look at these natural endowment
Poor visibility aside,
The mere oscillation of these mountains satisfies the hunger of many,
Gigantic in size, appealing at sight,
Ravishingly irresistible even for the most discipline among the warriors,
Arousing in one pleasures and ecstasy untold
The attackers!

Oh! Behold as these mountains oscillate,
At each step of the vessel
Left to right, back and forth,
To and fro, up and down,
Magnificent and menacing
The Attacker

For the feeble words of mouth
Are not sufficient to describe these natural mountains
For in their unrestricted, unconfined mode
Great is the desire for these angels
Yet, all and sundry dare not touch them,
The Atacker

Oh! That heavens would bestow me with a voluptuous pair as this
That at dusk my dreams will go unhindered
Knowing fully well my
Head is hidden in the blossom of these mountains!
Oh! My shelter at dusk you will be
Oh! Desirous attackers!
From every evil, thou will shield me,
Even if for a brevity of time!
The Attackers!
The strongest, yet, the most seemingly feeble!
