The Future is here

A lifeless object,
Tossed here and there,
To and fro, up and down,
By the waves of the ocean
A sojourner without a destination,
A life without a body,
Vanished ideas, hope dashed
Motivation irrevocably evaporated
Blurred visions, intense agony
An abject weakling, a caricature of its old self,
A nempty carrier of potential is what is left
The leaders of tomorrow
This is…
The future is here…

“We are the leaders of tomorrow”… says one with the head bowed
“Shall we continue like this? ”…shouted another angrily
“We have been sold out”…declared another pathetically
The tomorrow we and envisioned yesterday,
Here is…
Awake o! Ignorant Fools..For indeed you have been sold out
Continuity on the slippery sinking path
Never an option…
Reliance on the gluttons for providence
Absolutely Unacceptable…
Taking the bull by the horn,
Become the man at the helms of your won affair,
Aye! Aye! ! ! Captain…steer the boat of your life
For a man who has never learnt to steer the boat of his own life
well cannot so do for others…
the future is here

Oh! Foolish mortals…
Thy future begins when you say it does…
Thy future begins when thy boat leaves the shore of fear and doubt
And into the ocean it’s cast…
Woe betides thee….
When on these gormandizer thy trust and hope leans
Let him that has eras hear and be wise…
The future has begun…
The future is here…
The gormandizers will never change
They only replace themselves,
They come in various sizes and shape
Aims and objectives remain the same…
Awake! ! ! Oh! Thou staggering giants…
The future is here…

Poem of the Day

poet Charles Stuart Calverley

He stood, a worn-out City clerk —
Who'd toil'd, and seen no holiday,
For forty years from dawn to dark —
Alone beside Caermarthen Bay.
