The Autumn Shine Poem by Lon Brunk

The Autumn Shine

Rating: 5.0

The autumn shine
Glows with the rays
From a tired summer sun

Falling leaves,
Dying now
Their summer beauty done

Wind swept days
And clear cool nights
Signs that change is coming soon
When winter will knit
A soft blanket of snow
And clouds will dance with the moon

Snowflakes will fall
Like a life in flight
So unique in design
So fragile and light

Yellows and grays painted
On black and white
Sharpens the gaze
But softens the sight

Courageous trees
Stripped bare of their beauty
Face to the wind
They stand tall in their duty

Til springtime's warm sun
And nourishing rain
Spark an explosion of living
And it's summer again
