The Beauty Of The Naked Lady Poem by Terence George Craddock

The Beauty Of The Naked Lady

Rating: 5.0

nature adores idiolizes
the beauty of the naked lady
entering the flowing
morning river
as the first ray
of sunlight falls
upon the water
upon the beauty
of the naked lady
entering to wash

away the anguish of loss
of night dreams
empty imposed loneliness
soon the wet grass
will begin to dry
in morning light
as birds begin to sing
sweet greetings
to morning light
as flowers begin

to open bud raised
heads to morning light
on the far bank the naked lady
leaves the cold kiss
of early morning river waters
puts on a simple white dress
to clothe new birth day
no smile alights upon her face
in soft morning light
her long black hair falls

limp unadorned
strangely no jewelry
shines in familiar comfort
upon wrists fingers
no jewelry golden glows
upon dark skinned Indian body
she stands still motionless
in fresh morning sunlight
starring into empty space past
are empty young eyes she is

sixteen or seventeen years young
in fresh lush bloom of beauty
fading in recent widow grief
within one month of marriage
her beloved husband dead lost
has fallen killed in some far place
despicable futile deadly foreign war
leaving a young widow alone in daily
anguish grief distress
as time endless flows past

in liquid seconds
minutes hours
turning
into
days
weeks
months
of eternal
emptiness
flowing...
