I did not write the poem 'Who Is Afraid
Of The Coronavirus' in March 2020
at this time media tech giants governments
an assortment of grandstanding political
leaders were political spin manipulating data;
using spun data for public scaring political gains
profit news headlines profit drug companies;
disinformation was spreading like a plague
public fear was being terror sown into society;
so instead decided to write about a forgotten
deadly killer malaria that was Africa ignored;
meanwhile other deadly diseases media circus
ignored were creeping creeping creeping silent;
influenza diarrhea hepatitis tuberculosis measles
all old school plague evils are waiting waiting
ignored forgotten waiting to make a stage entrance
waiting for a forgotten chance to get back in circulation;
there are always diseases forgotten deaths forgotten
get out enjoy sunshine fresh air laugh run in the sun
best way to stay healthy eat healthy live happy healthy;
yes it is also good when an airborne
virus is spreading to wear a mask;
