The Belly Dance Poem by ONElia AVElar

The Belly Dance

Rating: 3.4

Fine sand
enclosed in a glass
in a sandy desert
in one hour dream
till the turnover
no more no less
a sandglass dreams
a sweet dream due
to its shapes

it dances in an oasis
...belly dance...

Beautiful imagery in such a small package of words. I could see your dancer enclosed in the sandglass.. very pretty. Almost like a genie. HG: -) xx

Hissing sounds from the desert where Onelia leads us with her inspiration. I remember 'The Tea in the Desert' by Peter Bowles, nevertheless better the book than the movie.

Lovely blending of imagery which shivers between the two dimensions of seeing....like a tuning fork resonating as it holds and sustains the note. love Dónall Dónall

Beautiful imagery. Belly dancers of the deserts of Rajasthan are well known all over the world. CP
