The Bible Poem by Laurie Smithson

Theres a book on the top shelf
I haven't read it in awhile
I saw a man read it yesterday
and something in it made him smile.
How I longed to discover
What made that man grin
So I dusted off that poem
And suddenly I was in!
I understood now
What had caused his eyes to twinkle
That made his face glow
And his cheeks to dimple
It was the unconditional love
In which the Lord provided
The forgiveness and the kindness
That is equally divided
Between all the people of the world
People lost and who've seen the light
The blessings that are given
To the dull and to the bright.
He loves us ALL you see
And thats what made that man smile
So pick up your bible
Every once in awhile
