The Burden We All Bear
my tears
each weep
for those whipped
each drop
for every soul dropped
each blink
for those wrinkled
my blood
bleeding onto this hole
gathering it all into a whole
I wriggle out of this spout
even though I feel stuck onto this spot
I struggle to glow
but my roots are towed
my tree
the branches ripped
and the leaves flustered
the birds asphyxiated
by the air you contaminated
chicks and nests trampled
by the dozers your rumbled
I resolve
still I choose to resist
because as I persist
you will desist
or be deceased.
