The Cage Poem by Sam Edison

The Cage

Rating: 5.0

I can hear the sounds of this city
Cars driving past in a rush to get nowhere
Sometimes if you listen those sounds can be preety
A drunken couple argues as a crowd start to stare
Ive known this place my whole life
Many things they did change
I can feel the heat from the street light
Lighting up one big cage
Where all trapped inside
As most cant get out
I dont know why many came here
Im looking for another route
But it aint my time to leave I drink down another beer
I see that everones a stranger
None of us know what to fear
Prisoners of society
Eleven million will die with me
We have similiar dreams
They keep raising all our rents
Same situation during different events
Empire state building gleams
We hate eachother it seems
But we all getting screwed bottom line thats what it means

Maybe this one is a little Dark. But the message that I'm preceiving is good. Now tell me if I'm wrong But it seems to me like your expressing the conection that the people have but there seems to be a gap between each individual. As if they are different when in reality everyone is the same. I feel that if we learn to Love one another and except each other we'll akk see the truth. Now this is what I get from this poem please tell emif i'm wrong.
