Was it by accident that electricity was discovered?
Was it by design that we were created?
Was it destiny that I ran into you that fateful day in the elevator?
Where covered with shy, I scribbled on a piece of paper
“Excuse me miss what’s your name? ”

Was I fortunate to stalk you down?
When before that, I paced up and down the hallway looking for you
And when I did find you, lacked courage to slip you the note
The note?
Yes that note!
And on the note was my number
And those numbers were the lucky numbers
Not lottery numbers but winning numbers
One call, that’s all it took to get this story started!

You looked shocked when you saw me in your class
Remembered me as “That stud in the elevator”
“5 feet 8 inches, hot black male on the loose”
I Walked boldly into your class and caused some stirs
Slipped you the note and walked right out
But the sparkle in your eye as I approached you …
I seen one night and it was akin to a comet, it was bright and beautiful
Not a million stars out that night could stop me from gazing at the night
Looking out for my comet
And then it all happened, my phone rang and you were on the other end
