The Coconut Palmtree Poem by narayana aghalaya

The Coconut Palmtree

The Coconut Palm Tree

sways freely, with.wind
but firm, unmoved at the root
consumes 'most nothing
its water and meat, to soothe
its coir for mats to boot

can live till hundred
it is a treasure to have
trees in large numbers
to climb, one needs to be brave
practice, can evade, close shave

when energy saps
in a coconut grove
take a mid-day nap
dream of recipes you love
and when you wake up, say wow!

Coconut tree is one of the most useful trees. A little care now and then, this tree can fetch handsome returns for decades!
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Unfortunately all the coconut trees in our area are getting blighted! Once rows of coconut trees with the weight of clusters of coconuts used to stand proud in the coastal regions of Kerala with their palm fronds swaying in the wind! Indeed it was a lovely sight! Beautiful poem!
