The Craving Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The Craving

It Could Have Been

It could have been
That I myself
Made the mistakes
In my life.

The further I got
The more I wanted.
The more I wanted,
The further I got.

But this feeling
Never stopped appealing
Forever it was like alcohol's
Effect on my mind.

I was addicted to more and more.
It didn't matter what subject
I was indeed irritated
Until I stopped my inner cravings.

*** I don't drink alcohol. It's just a part of the poem.
It's fictitious.
