When first I knew a decent Man
was nestled in those weathered hands
although too young to understand
the meaning of his song,
was altogether mesmerized
when drawn into those clear blue eyes
his soothing voice, its fall and rise
transported me along;
beyond the realm of time or space
my gaze unwavered from that face
an infant state of blissful grace
descended,
moreover as a truth profound
ingratiated sight and sound
my heart did fully leap and pound
now love itself was comprehended.
