The Darkness Poem by Rachel BaByBeAr Anderson

The Darkness

I sit still
not wanting to dare a move
You watch
your eyes never leave
like a lion you guard
you never leave
never turn away
you're always watching, like a hawk
I feel like the mouse caught in your trap
I brought myself here
and cannot run away
even now after all this time you wait
expecting something, what is it?
I wish you would leave
the hate is burning away underneath
forcing it's way up
it wants to hurt you
why cant you see?
or maybe you do and this is what you expect.
You only ever move an inch
the others around us dont care
they're free to go
Im stuck here
with your never ending stare caught on me.
Please go
I dont want a lion to die for me
or the hawk to fall either
move now and you can leave,
leaving me in the dark to stay forever.
It's my home and always will be
so go now!
leave me to my darkness.
