The sun went dark
The trees bowed
The moon fell from the sky
As if they had seen me cry
The oceans paused
The birds stopped singing
The bells stopped ringing
The last star that twinkled did die
The dogs howled
The whales wailed
The last ship sailed
The last dream slipped by
The world grew cold
I suddenly felt so old
The last hope was sold
And the fighter used up his last try
Rainbows fell about
The last holdout did sell out
It all went to Hell
The day love said goodbye.
