The Day We Said Goodbye Poem by Ray Hansell

The Day We Said Goodbye

It wasn't that long ago
When it seems we had it all
But who would have guessed
The way it all would fall

Life used to be so happy
In everything we'd do
I never thought I'd see the day
When I wouldn't share it all with you

No use in pointing fingers
It's too late for the blame game
Because no matter what
We both can share the blame

I know life and love are not perfect
But I thought that we were pretty close
That's what makes this so difficult
Because it's the ending that we chose
