The Defense Against Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

The Defense Against

If people had invested more of their interest,
In living vibrant and wholesome lives to live...
This would be reflected to see,
Instead of the acceptance of negativity.

And the defense against those who mention it,
Would not be a necessity...
To be protected by the ones most affected.

And yet they pretend,
Not to notice those dragging their limbs.
Or using crutches of all kinds to find reasons,
To shuffle, hop and use unbelievable excuses.
