The Eagle [2] Poem by Gert Strydom

The Eagle [2]

The pillars of its wings
are tremendously strong things
that pushes it up high into the sky
before it turns and glides with a scanning eye
while in its merciless talons lurks death
and in the time of a gasp of breath
lightning quick it does fall
and at first seems a speck and small
but in an instant becomes a deadly thing
that rushes in flying.
