The Egg And I - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

The Egg And I - Lincoln Park Zoo

I am Mrs. Ostrich who lives
And lays eggs in Lincoln Park Zoo.
At Wild Things Gift Shop my egg gives
A wild thing souvenir for you.
Cuz me and the Mister are not
Yet picked by Zoo powers that be
To hatch ostriches we begot,
So the eggs are taken from me.
That's okay - there's a time and place
For Zoos to be able to care
For newborns on a case by case,
Achieving better health welfare.

Buy my egg and then on it sit.
Don't worry, you cannot hatch it.
